HILLSBOROUGH ARTS COUNCIL PIE CONTEST
The Third Annual Pie Contest Begins!
This marks the third year for the Annual Pie Contest as part of this Last Fridays season. Can you believe it? Time sure does fly when you are having fun. The contest has grown and we are thrilled to have so much enthusiasm around this event.
This has proven to be the tastiest fundraiser for the Hillsborough Arts Council and we thank you for your participation. Enter the 2011 Pie Contest here: Pie Contest Entry Form
The third season will feature the following:
April: Chocolate
May: Strawberry
June: Icebox or Cool Pies
July: Blueberry
August: KidsNight
September: Best of the Season - All winners come back for a pie bake-off!
CONTEST RULES :
- Pie must be entered in the name of the person who made it.
- Full recipe with list of ingredients and directions must accompany all entries.
- Bring pie to Cup o’ Joe (120 W King Street) no later than 5 pm on Last Friday.
- PIE BOXES WILL BE AVAILABLE AT CUP O’JOE.
- Fill out entry form for each pie entered.
- Please bake pies in a pie pan that does not need to be returned to you. We cannot be responsible for any pie pans that break. Sorry.
the fine print:
Entered pies become the property of the Hillsborough Arts Council.
If you are a winner, you give your permission to have your photo taken and have it used for Pie Contest promotional materials including the Hillsborough Arts Council website.
A copy of your recipe may be used in future Pie Contest Cookbooks.
Judging will begin at 6 pm on Last Friday and there will be three judges plus a tie-breaking judge if needed. Winners are announced at the band break (approximately 7:30 pm on the courthouse lawn).

SCORING:
Each judge assigns a numerical value (1-5) in each category.
The pie receiving the highest total numerical value is the winner.
In the case of a tie, the tie-breaking judge will pick the winner.

Winners will be announced during the band’s break (between 7 and 7:30)
Pie slices of all pies will then be sold for $3/slice at Cup O’ Joe.

All proceeds from the sale will used by the Hillsborough Arts Council to fund its many activities.
