"The Brand New Life" is an eight piece afro-funk jazz group that is fusing African traditions with jazz and modern techniques as well as any group today. A rare collaboration between a group of jazz musicians from North Carolina, and a Senegalese story teller from West Africa, they have created a special sound and an impressive repertoire of completely original music.

The Galactic Cowboy Orchestra has been perfecting its blend of bluegrass folk and progressive rock/jazz fusion/world music, citing Dixie Dregs, Wes Montgomery, and Rush as influences, the music is truly astounding and unique.
Fusing together jazz, classical, bluegrass, southern rock, Indian ragas, plus their own original stylings — The Galactic Cowboy Orchestra plays with fire, precision and commitment.
The Swang Brothers

The Swang Brothers play American music from the 50s and 60s, combining a heady mix of traditional country, rockabilly pop and blues.
The three-piece outfit covers a diverse array of artists including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond , Merle Haggard, Chet Atkins and many others while mixing in some choice original tunes to round it all out. The band can turn on a dime, playing an all-out rockabilly rave-up one moment, then downshifting into a country ballad the next, followed by a burning instrumental number.

United by musical interests that include samba, funk, soul, blues, bossa, jazz and Spanish flamenco; Humberto Oliveira Sales and Madeline Holly Sales blend the melodic, rhythmic and harmonic riches from North and South America.
Berto, native to Brazil, pursued a formal education in classical guitar. His knowledge of Brazilian rhythms and study of Spanish Flamenco add to the unique finger picking style he uses.
Madeline brings with her the strong influence of soul, jazz and blues. She sings in Portuguese, English and Spanish. Her sensual, rich voice, playful interpretations, and strong stage presence make their combination extremely unique.

The six piece Risse Band is one of the most versatile bands on the circuit. Bandleader and vocalist Jaisun McMillian, earned her chops as a performing member of the Platters and Martha Reeves and the Vandellas. Jaisun's vocals are clear, smooth and can range from warm and sultry to red hot. ...Jaisun can rock the house!
In 1990 Jaisun partnered with Victor Stone, keyboardist and an original founding member of Risse. ...the rest is history.

Cyril Lance Band

Hot, rootsy blues, funky jams, swamp, New Orleans, latin-tinged R&B...Cyril Lance is well-known for his song-writing and guitar playing.
"Moving to North Carolina really reconnected me to roots music in a way that I didn't anticipate," Lance says "The Piedmont has such an amazing connection to the history of blues and roots music and I feel fortunate to have fallen into this incredible community of musicians here."
He has toured extensively as well as releasing critically-acclaimed albums since moving down south.
