  • Presents the Orange County Artists Guild Studio Tour Preview Show featuring work by the artists involved in the 2014 open studio tour before deciding which studios to visit.  The show runs from October 27 through November 9.  Artists reception on October 31 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Presents "The Art of Giving" - art for the holiday season by HGA’s 22 member artists. The show runs from November 10 through January 4, 2015.  Artists reception on November 28 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • "In Sight" featuring the acrylics, chalk pastels, markers, oil pastel, and greenware of Chloe Strauss. Artist reception on February 28 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Wet plate collodion tintype by Tim Duffy and Aaron Greenhood of Music Maker Tintype. Artist reception on March 28 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • "Hot Earth Artists Troupe responds to global warming". For one night only, HEAT will respond to the planetary crisis. Artists include Donn Young, Hunter Levinsohn, Godi Godar, Anne Gregory-Bepler, Jayne Bomberg, Michael Brown, Tom Guthrie, Leslie Deede Miller, Tiffney Marley, Louise Francke, RAMCELL, organized by Jennifer Miller. Artists reception on April 25 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • "Special Event 2: Do You Want to Live Forever?"  Participate in an interactive artistic experience where you can put something of yourself in an actual Time Capsule as part of the timeless quest for immortality. Artists include: Jennifer Miller, Andrea DeGette, Tiffney Marley, Tom Guthrie, Michael Brown, Jim Kellough, and Shiangtai Tuan, with surprise guest appearances. Reception on May 30 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • A pre-screening of "Dry Moon", the feature film by local award-winning filmmaker Andrea DeGette.  Reception on June 27 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • "Dreaming of…." where 26 artists create a show of varied work in addition to a miniature museum titled: Triangle Women's Art Museum.  Artists include: Jayne Bomberg, Edie Cohn, Andrea Degette, Louise Franke, Susan Leeb, Hunter Levinsohn, Susie Lieff, Jackie Liggins, Jennifer Miller, Kaola Phoenix, Barbara Rhoades, Ann Rowles, Beatrice Schall, Madelyn Smoak, Hollie Taylor, Rosie Thompson, Trudy Thomson, Marta Tomero, Ginny Tyler, Barbara Tyroler, Emily Weinstein, and Susan Wells.  Reception on August 29 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • The Skylight Gallery presents "Special Event #3 Black and White".  This event will be a continuation of the process of our artists' cooperative experience that strives to enhance the individuality of each participating artist.  Special Event #3 will concentrate our mixed media works in one room (Skylight Gallery) studio artists Jayne Bomberg and Tom Guthrie (The Studio of Collective Effervescence), Jennifer E.   • "Brooke Erceg Creery 5th Annual Apron Show" featuring Brooke's personal collection of new and vintage aprons.  The show runs from May 1 through 31.  Reception on May 30 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Presents "The Dream Fish" featuring mixed media by Jason Hawkin.  The show runs from June 1 through 30.  Reception on June 27 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • "Real and Surreal" featuring the botanical and landscape paintings of Robert Johnson. The show runs from February 28 through April 20. Opening reception on February 28 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • "The Figure in Oil, Encaustic and Clay" featuring three contemporary artists interpreting the figure in three different mediums: Oil on Panel by Alicia Armstrong, Encaustic Paintings by Molly Cliff Hilts and Ceramic Sculpture by Tinka Jordy. The show runs from April 25 through June 22. Opening reception on April 25 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Presents "The Contemporary Abstract Landscapes" of Marvin Saltzman.  The show runs from June 27 through August 24.  Opening reception on June 27 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Presents "The Windows View" an invitational group exhibition.  The windows in our homes demarcate a boundary between inside and outside, between what's private and what's public.  The window becomes a frame for its content, a marker of difference between what is inside and outside.  Whether looking in or looking out, whether representational, abstract or metaphorical this evocative exhibition will allow you the opportunity to become the viewer and perhaps the voyeur in each artist's interpretation of "The Windows View".  The show runs from August 29 through October 26.  Opening reception on August 29 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Presents "Lasting Impressions" featuring paintings by Mike Hoyt. The show runs from October 30 through November 23. Preview reception with the Artist on October 30 from 6 – 9 pm. Opening reception on October 31 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Presents Eno Artists group exhibition, featuring new work by Eno Gallery artists. The lower gallery will be featuring new jewelry by Thomas Mann, Keith Lewis, Erika Sturm, Mary Timmer and stunning hand blown glass fruit by nationally recognized glass Artists, Molly Stone and Michael Cohn and eclipse double wall bowls by John Geci. The show runs from November 28 through January 18, 2015. Opening reception on November 28 from 6 – 9 pm.

 

The Qi Garden at 112 South Churton Street.

  • "Winter's Glow" featuring the gouache, ink and photography paintings of Lee Moore Crawford, oil paintings of Lilly Langer, acrylic and oil paintings of Renata McConnell, textile collages of Elaine O'Neil, oil and acrylic paintings of Emily Eve Weinstein, and acrylic and mixed media of Jackie Tiryakian. The show runs from February 28 through March 15. Opening reception on February 28 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • "Blossoms, Buds and Blooms" featuring oils, acrylics and photo paintings of Lee Moore Crawford, Emily Eve Weinstein, Lilly Langer, Elaine O'Neil, Renata McConnell and Jackie Tiryakian. The show runs from March 19 through mid April. Opening reception on March 28 from 6 – 9 pm with tulip arrangements for sale from Lee and Lucia's very own organic gardens.

  • "East Meets West: The Buddha in Acrylic and Multimedia" featuring Jackie Tiryakian. Originally from France, trained in Asia, now living in Hillsborough, Jackie captures the Buddha effortlessly. Show runs through April 31. Opening reception on April 25 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • "Energy Art" by Renata McConnell.  Did you know that art can heal?  Energy Art has recently been discovered as a healing modality alive with universal, spiritual energy.  Renata enters a meditative state and gets an intuitive read to create the work. Works may be designed to enhance a part of the home with healing energies or custom works can be created around an individual need.  Show runs through June 30.  Opening reception on May 30 from 6 – 9 pm.  And continuing through August, "Summer's Soldes" featuring oils, acrylics and photo paintings of Lee Moore Crawford, Emily Eve Weinstein, Lilly Langer, Elaine O'Neil, Renata McConnell and Jackie Tiryakian.

  • Presents jewelry designer Janie Manning of Sweet Charleston Designs showcasing an interpretive tribute to the ancient global art of coiled woven basketry referred to as Sweet Grass Basketry. Sweet grass baskets made by three generations of the White family from Mt. Pleasant, SC will also be available.  Reception on June 27 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Presents "Around Town" featuring seasonal acrylic paintings of familiar sights and historic homes in Hillsborough by Jerry Smith. Smiths’ cards will also be available. Reception on July 25 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Presents "Hanging Around" by Lucia Apollo Shaw. Lucia, owner of the qi garden, will present planters: repurposed, vertical and in wire forms using "Spagmoss" and a mix of succulents, perennials and ivy.  Come out and see bust forms, fleur de lis and more potted up.  Reception on August 29 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Presents "Healing Stone Jewelry" by Beth Vickers"Autumn Romance" featuring oils, acrylics and textile college works by Emily Eve Weinstein, Lilly Langer, Elaine O'Neil, Renata McConnell and Jackie Tiryakian.  Reception on September 26 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Nature photography by Jaclyn Burns. The show runs from April 25 through May 2. Artist reception on April 25 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Presents "Reflections of Home and Afar" featuring a collection of favorite images from international travels and around North Carolina by Dave Schwartzburg.  Dave Schwartzburg is the freelance photographer behind Rooney Photography. Dave has long had a passion for photography and the art of making great images. Personal travel and his day job have taken him to some fantastic places around the world, affording awesome photographic opportunities. Closer to home, Dave enjoys capturing local architecture and natural beauty. 10% of all sales will be donated by the Dave to Habitat for Humanity. The show runs from July 25 through 31.   • Presents "Creative Play: There is no wrong way to do this"Diane Joyal and Margaret Henderson display their creative work and offer “how-to” handouts for making totem dolls, altars, and books.  Paintings on both canvas and plywood will be there, too.  This art show celebrates the personal and spiritual insights that are accessible through artful play.  The show runs from August 28 through September 24.  Reception on August 29 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Exhibition featuring the work of Mariette Pathy Allen and Vincent Cianni. Opening reception on April 25 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • "The Perfect Picture" featuring photographs by Kristin Bedford.  Photographer Kristin Bedford explores the mystery and nature of enduring faith in her latest body of work.  Reception on May 30 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Presents "Silver Screen" featuring the photography of Tama Hochbaum.  The show runs from June 27 through July 25.  Opening reception on June 27 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Presents "Library of Possibility" a show of books made by artists in the Triangle area.  From handmade books displaying the arts of printmaking and bookbinding, to digitally produced photobooks and zines, to books treated as sculpture, the show features work from across the very broad spectrum of contemporary book art.  The simplest book is a remarkably sophisticated little machine.  Each page is a moment of its own, but page follows page to create an extended experience over time.  The text and imagery and materials of a book combine to create a world that exists both in the reader's imagination and solidly in the hand.  In the hands of artists, the book's possibilities become almost endless.  The show runs from August 29 through September 22.  Opening reception on August 29 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Presents "The Day the Dam Collapses" by Hiroshi Watanabe.  The show runs from September 26 through October 27. Exhibition launch and book signing on September 26 from 6 – 9 pm.

  • Presents Robert Shults's new monograph "The Superlative Light" The show runs from October 31 through November 24.
