Call for Gallery Exhibitors for 2019 and 2020
The Hillsborough Arts Council Gallery's mission is to empower local artists to forge productive cultural and socio-economic ties with their community through professional exhibit opportunities in the Gallery. We are a Gallery founded on the principle that art is a vehicle for intellectual, cultural and socio-economic growth and that it is the community’s responsibility to collectively support the arts. We provide a free space with no commercial pressure so that you can make your best work and actively engage with this community in the way you choose. If you’ve never visited us, please familiarize yourself with our Gallery and history before applying.
We want to keep the application process simple, but you do need to have a clear vision of how you plan to use your time at the Gallery. By allowing you to show here, we are trusting you entirely with this space. Understand that our relationship with you requires that you live up to that trust. This means being professional in the presentation of your work and being professional in your approach and execution of your exhibit.
We rely entirely on the connection that you create with the community and we need you be fully engaged in creating and nurturing that connection. In showing at The HAC Gallery, you become a part of the HAC Gallery lineage: it is every artist’s voice that defines and redefines the HAC Gallery existence.
This is what we require from all Exhibiting Artists who use our space in 2019 and 2020:
Commit to attend and meet the public at an artist's reception in the Gallery from 6-9 pm during Last Fridays Art Walk.
Commit to providing an exhibit title, brief description and images for publicity at least 6 weeks prior to your exhibit.
Undertake all aspects of installation and de-installation of your work.
