The coastal plain of North Carolina is my home place.  Subjects for landscape paintings come to me on my frequent trips to Edenton and Beaufort, what I call “drive-by” shots.  I can bet on a painting when I have to stop the car and get out to breath in what I’m seeing.

Painting has always been a constant in my experience. Childhood memories of landscapes in eastern North Carolina find their way into my present work, perhaps stimulating an emotional/psychological resonance in the viewer. I wish to delight the subconscious mind.

I enjoy the solitude and focus of painting to my best edge.

Frames are welded steel, ground to a rough shiny finish.
