Catherine Kramer has been working with gourds since 2009. Inspired by both traditional and modern gourd arts from the Asia-Pacific, Americas and Africa, Treehouse Garden gourds incorporate a variety of natural materials in their design.

Catherine was an art major at the University of Minnesota until pursuing a career in science.  Through classes, workshops and experimentation she has adapted weaving, carving, and painting techniques to a three dimensional canvas.  Each piece is unique and intended to enhance the gourd’s natural form.  A variety of natural and man-made fibers are incorporated in many designs, as well botanicals, beads and semi-precious gems and metals.
