"Varying degrees of twang”, “Ruminative folk”, and even “Commercial pop rock”, are a few of the ways the Debonzo Brothers’ d...ynamic sound has been described by local media in their hometown of Raleigh, NC. With the brothers having grown up on folk and bluegrass through their musician father, and also being compared to such early indie acts like The Psychedelic Furs, it begins to paint a picture of the genre-bending territory they inhabit.

Debonzo Brothers’ first EP titled “Places” was released in the summer of 2010. The six song collection is a patchwork of changing influences put on display with the help of guest musicians Joe Kwon of the Avett Brothers and Grammy-nominated dobro player, Rick Keen. Central to the band’s relevance is its proficient and tasteful rhythm section backstopped by prolific bassist Grant Emerson and former American Aquarium drummer Chris Hibbard. An evening with Debonzo Brothers promises compelling songwriting, eccentric humor, and engaging rock and roll shaded with Americana and modern indie.
