Marketing and Self-Promotion for Artists

The Hillsborough Arts Council announces it’s Winter/Spring programs with the introduction of “Marketing and Self-Promotion for Artists,” a monthly marketing workshop for artists in business. The series is designed to empower artists with knowhow and implementation strategy for using social media and email marketing to promote and sell artwork. All workshops will be held at the Hillsborough Arts Council at 102 North Churton Street.

 

Workshops Dates & Topics include

  • Sunday 2/23 (1:00p.m. – 3:30p.m.) Beefing Up Facebook for Business

  • Saturday 3/8 (9:30a.m. – 12:00p.m.) How to Turn Pinterest into Sales Leads

  • Saturday 4/13 (1:00p.m. – 3:30p.m.) Taking Tradeshows, Markets and Fairs Further with Twitter

  • Saturday 5/24 (9:30a.m. – 12:00p.m.) Keeping Up with Fans through Email Marketing

 

Workshops are $20 each, and are limited to only 20 attendees. Early registration is encouraged.

 

Marketing and Self-promotion workshops are presented by the Hillsborough Arts Council in partnership with business consultant and instructor, Heather Allen, MGIM-MBA.

 

Heather Allen is an author, entrepreneur and small business consultant for visual artists and craftspeople.  She is based in Raleigh, NC and works with clients nationally.  Her business mission is to empower creative people with marketing and business savvy to turn their creativity into profitability.  In addition to consulting with clients and leading professional development workshops, Heather is a college guest lecturer.  She speaks to audiences of artists, business professionals and students about marketing, branding & creativity in entrepreneurship.  She received her Masters in Global Innovation Management and Business Administration from NC State University and L’Institut d’Administration des Entreprises, Aix Graduate School of Management in Puyricard, France.  Prior to starting her business, she consulted at the headquarters of a small business development center, did fundraising for a prominent craft education nonprofit, and promoted artists as a former artist agent.
