Featured Program: HAC Gallery and Gift Shop

The Hillsborough Arts Council Gallery and Gift Shop is located at the center of downtown Hillsborough, at 102 North Churton Street. This storefront location serves as much more than just a home to the arts council - it's a place with which we can serve the creative community in Hillsborough through exhibitions, sale of artwork, and artist receptions.

While linked within the physical space, the Gallery and the Gift Shop are run by two separate, all-volunteer teams. Both led by dedicated volunteers who give countless hours to making the Gallery and the Gift Shop run efficiently. Whether they are leading the display and inventory of artwork, communications with artists, managing volunteers who take turns working the sales desk, or crunching sales numbers each week - we couldn't do it without them!

The Gift Shop space features over 50 local artists whose handmade goods ranging from fine art to crafts in all shapes, sizes, and price points. While they shift the display monthly, all artists are represented year-round in the shop. The artwork includes jewelry, ceramics, fiber art, wooden art, glass, cards, prints, and more. During the holiday season, you'll also find dozens of handmade ornaments and other handmade home and holiday decor, in addition to many small gift-able items.

In contrast, the Gallery changes monthly featuring only one or two artists who were carefully chosen by a jury comprised of knowledgeable local artists and HAC volunteers. The exhibiting artists are showcased monthly, each with a Last Friday Art Walk reception, and highlighted on our website. We are pleased to be able to offer this space to more than a dozen artists each year.

The HAC Gallery and Gift Shop is open Wednesday - Saturday, 12:00-4:00PM, Sunday 1:00-5:00PM.
