Ali Givens, local textile artist, HAC Board Member, and Program Chair for this year's Handmade Market, a curated community arts fair that occurs the same day as the 2022 Found Object Handmade Parade and serves as hub for before and after parade festivities, has generously donated her time and talent to create a one-of-a-kind, handmade art piece. Let the Sun Shine In is part of a collection of textile pieces Ali created, inspired by Hillsborough's legendary Handmade Parade. On display now in the HAC Gallery & Gift Shop, you can purchase raffle tickets in-person or online using the button below to enter to win this piece, valued at $1200. Raffle winner will be announced in the weeks following the 2022 Handmade Parade!

"As a textile artist living on E. Queen St. for 10 years, I became fascinated by the Handmade Parade. The puppets became like friends to me when I worked on bringing to life their colors, textures, and emotions with hand-painted fabric and thread.
I love the thought of our community working together to make the Handmade Parade such a joyful event. The fourth piece in the series, I created, Let the Sun Shine In, to celebrate HIllsborough's weird, whimsical, and wonderful Handmade Parade.
The proceeds of this raffle go to support the Hillsborough Arts Council and all they do for the town of Hillsborough.
