NC's own Whoop! (the band) will join us on the back of the Old Orange County Courthouse Lawn from around 6:30-7:30 PM to enliven July's Makers Market with a little indie, jazz, rock, reggae, and hip-hop ambiance!

The Orange County Historical Museum will offer an art-making station related to their What's Your Flavor exhibit, which depicts the many ways cooking is an art and explores the heritage cooking of Orange County.

 

Find them near the Hillsborough Arts Info Booth, 5:30-8:30 PM, on the Old Orange County Courthouse Lawn!

Join the Living Arts Collective for Last Fridays Living Arts Drum Circles; Dancewaves; and various other unique, educational, and interactive activities in River Park! LAC brings a variety of programming to Last Fridays each month, and the experience is an incredible opportunity to connect and express with your community.

 

No matter what your experience or comfort level is with dance and art, this is your opportunity to move and create as you wish within an intergenerational community space. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Especially children and elders.

POETRY "PROSE" SHOWCASE

Each month, Last Friday's Poetry "Prose" Showcase features a variety of inspired poets and spoken word artists.

This showcase stops at 2-4 venues throughout the night to share words and heart with the community.

 

The goal of this program is to:

  • Provide a platform for established poets to share their work.

  • Amplify the power of language to paint, electrify, and bridge worlds.

  • Empower new poets still nurturing the courage to share their self-expression

  • Cultivate a community for the future of HAC’s poetry program, which aims to offer workshops and other resources for emerging artists.

FEATURED POETS:

ANTINO ART

Antino Art writes ad copy to pay the rent and poetry for inner peace. His voice was once featured at the Green Mill Poetry Slam in Chicago and his words have made their published mark in a handful of eclectic spaces. He’s the creator of Raleigh is for Ronin, a series of downtown walking guides written in poems. Beyond poetry, he collects swords, plays basketball against himself, and routinely imparts to his daughter, Nali Katana, the virtue of defeating who you were yesterday.

A native of Fayetteville, NC, Lawrence "Law" Bullock II is the founder of MagnifyUnifyGlorify "M.U.G.", LLC. Incorporating his artistry of photography and spoken word. Law has been a part of multiple events, publications and helped to organize events as well. Keeping with his love of spoken word. He has featured, hosted and/or taken part in open mics, church functions, youth events, community events, art showcases, festivals and exhibits.
